Kaziranga National Park is one of the most sought after wildlife holiday destinations in India. It is alternatively called the ‘Serengeti of the East’. The park has been declared as a world heritage site by the UNESCO. The park is situated on the banks of Brahmaputra River in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam close to the Karbi Anlong plateau.

Apart from these the three giant herbivores that is, the Asiatic Water Buffaloes, the Asiatic Elephant and the Swamp Deer can be spotted easily.
The Kaziranga Forest is home to a variety of wild animals along with other species of reptiles, exotic birds and aquatic fauna. The animals primarily found here include hog deer, sambar, golden langur, bear, fishing cat, Indian porcupine, gaur, Indus river dolphin, black langur and reptiles like gharials, garden lizards, python, crocodile, king cobra, etc. Besides, the region is said to be a paradise for bird watchers as one can easily spot different inhabiting and migratory birds of dwindling species like Bengal florican, eastern imperial eagle, hornbill, grey headed fish eagle and others. Another major attraction of this vast reserve is the tall elephant grasses mixed with swamplands. The main flora and fauna found here include semi-tropical forests, alluvial grasslands and deciduous forests.
